Double Rainbow over Durango!

Double Rainbow over Durango!

I’ve seen many breathtaking scenes that I could not capture, some that have torn my heart in two because I knew the memory would fade as a digital photo does not. However, I have been so blessed with moments like this one, where, intuitively deciding to take one last photo, and taking action to get the right lens for it, led me straight into something even more epic and beautiful than I could have imagined.

Made it to Colorado

Soooo... I’ve taken this road trip with my dog to Colorado to visit with good people and enjoy the freedom away from most of my things. And I brought only the art supplies that I am very new at… becoming familiar with: Resin painting supplies and alcohol ink. that’s all.

Blood Moon, Super Moon, Total Lunar Eclipse!

Blood Moon, Super Moon, Total Lunar Eclipse!

Wow. When I found out it was going to be a blood moon, Supermoon, AND total lunar eclipse last evening, Sunday September 27, 2015, I really wanted to go out and photograph it. This hasn't happened since 1982, and is not going to happen again until 2033. Because of it's somewhat rare occurrence, it was important for me to make it happen, and bring my Laboradorite stones to soak in the cleansing moon energy.

Milky Way Through the Trees

Milky Way Through the Trees

Oh, driving home on Labor Day evening, I was so pleased to notice how dark out it was, and our amazing Milky Way galaxy popped into view from my peripheral vision out of my dirty car window. Seriously. It was that bright. Or I'm just attuned to it, maybe both ;) Either way, I feel so grateful to live in an area where the city lights don't permeate the sky. So of course I had to shoot.

Moon Halo

Ever seen a ring around the sun or moon? It's quite a sight, and of course, anytime I've experienced this, I haven't had my camera on me. So last night after an amazing collaborative painting session with a friend, we stepped out into the night to encounter an entire ring surrounding a waxing gibbous moon. It was magnificent, and moreover, privately synchronistic for me in this particular time in my life.

Couldn't Not Stop

while crossing the border from Arizona into Utah, my mom in the u-haul following close behind, i skirted off the side into a sudden turn off to capture a breathtaking sunset in place of the Horseshoe Bend shots i missed out on. i was terrified that my mom would crash into the back of the car, or worse, pass me by, indicating a no-can-shoot-now. she made it. complete with tripod and the 24-70mm lens that was already on the camera, i planned to shoot a couple photos...
